Why we are here

Olive & Myrtle was founded on the belief that when sustainability and great design are brought together, beautiful things will follow. We are here to help customers create improved spaces and personal environments through the products we offer. By choosing to support sustainable products, customers are contributing to a sustainable environment on a much larger level. While the purchase of sustainable products is one very small way to make an impact, we believe it can inspire other choices in one’s life that will have continued positive impacts to the environment.

We realize the importance of community citizenship and environmental stewardship. What makes the products at Olive & Myrtle sustainable?

The criteria we use when assessing a product can be broken down into three areas of emphasis.

Raw materials - products will contain recycled, repurposed, organic, renewable, fairly traded, FSC-certified, non-toxic, and/or biodegradable materials.

Production - creation of products will be ecologically responsible through efficient use of energy, materials and other resources.

Labor - workers will be provided with a safe, healthy work environment, be fairly compensated for work, and be treated with dignity and respect.

These areas of emphasis help guide and inform our product selection. We hold the products in our collection to very high standards and strive to offer only products that best exemplify our commitment to sustainability.
