Olive & Myrtle participated in it’s first Earth Day volunteer event in Seattle. Working with Friends of the Burke-Gilman at Sand Point, participants cleared away invasive species from the trail. This will make room for native plants and trees to flourish along the trail in the future. We definitely got our hands dirty. Pulling out invasive blackberry roots is hard work! The Burke-Gilman Trail is a popular recreational trail for walkers, runners, cyclists, skaters and commuters in the Seattle metro area. Looking forward to seeing the progress along the trail and spending countless hours enjoying the scenic beauty the trail currently has to offer. For more information on the Burke-Gilman trail you can visit the Seattle Park & Rec Burke-Gilman Trail page.

seattle skyline Main New Seattle Eco Friendly Product Retailer!

Olive & Myrtle is happy to announce our recent move to the Pacific Northwest! It was a big decision, but one that we know will be perfect for us. We look forward to getting to know sustainable designers, artists and companies in Seattle. Our new office is located in Belltown, and came with fabulous views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains! Olive & Myrtle can still be found 24/7 online, across the country, but we will be looking for just the perfect spot to open our first store in one of Seattle’s fabulous neighborhoods in 2012. We look forward to being the #1 Seattle retailer for beautifully-designed eco-friendly products for the home.

MM BestOf Best of the Cities 2009. Yea!

We just love Minnesota Monthly! Recently Olive & Myrtle was voted best Shopping Site in the annual Best of the Cities. Here is what they had to say… “Babies. Puppies. Cookies. Some things just make us smile, and Olive & Myrtle is one of them. For this eco-conscious online shop, proprietor (and former Target art director) Aaron Porvaznik insists on good design and good products—and we’re not complaining one bit. From baby gifts to home décor, everything is sustainable or certified-organic, some of it is locally made, and all of it is fun to look at. Happy shopping!” Thanks to Elizabeth Dehn at Minnesota Monthly… we could not have said it better! To see all of the “best of’s” click here.
